A celebration of emotions, friendship, goosebump moments, and international spirit: nearly 1,000 of the world’s leading hairdressers and beauty experts from 40countries gathered for three unforgettable days to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Intercoiffure Mondial, right in its birthplace, Hamburg.
Fifteen breathtaking shows at the Congress Center Hamburg, a Parade of Nations at the legendary Fish Auction Hall, an unforgettable gala evening, an exclusive matinée with the “Camerata” orchestra at the Elbphilharmonie, and a ceremonial awards presentation—these were the highlights of a truly global summit for the Intercoiffure Mondial hair fashion community.
What a celebration it was! 100 years of Intercoiffure Mondial, 100 years of unity, creativity, excellence, and passion. Hamburg was glowing: at 10 PM, the sun still shone over the wide Elbe River. These “white nights” of the North carry a kind of magic. And when friends from all over the world reunite, a special kind of energy fills the air. At the Intercoiffure World Congress, the world’s leading hairdressers proudly celebrated global hair fashion artistry, cultural diversity, and a core value that has defined the organization for a century: “Friendship among like-minded people.” As Peter F. Pfister, President of Intercoiffure Mondial, expressed: “This spirit has connected us for 100 years, surviving wars, economic crises, and pandemics, because it’s rooted in genuine human connection.” That spirit of warmth was already tangible on the first evening during the get-together at the Hamburg Fish Auction Hall: the Parade of Nations received thunderous applause for each participating country, and enthusiasm knew no borders.
Intercoiffure Germany organized the event with heart and dedication. “More than two years of intensive work wentinto this. It was a massive project for a non-profit organisation,” said Markus Herrmann, President of Intercoiffure Germany. His mission: to celebrate “the craft of hairdressing, global friendship, and a shared passion for beauty.”
In one of the CCH’s exhibition halls, valued industry partners of Intercoiffure Mondial showcased new products and services while engaging in meaningful exchange with hairdressers from across the globe.
Twelve spectacular shows put the professional skill and creative power of the Intercoiffure community on full display during the afternoon: hair artists from Germany, Switzerland, Bulgaria, Hong Kong/Macau, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Singapore, China, Japan, South Korea, Chile, Brazil, Peru, Bolivia, and Uruguay presented future-forward trends with inspiring performances.

Three standout gala shows by Intercoiffure Japan, Markus Herrmann (for host country Germany), and L’Oréal honoured the luxury of beauty: flawless haircuts, brilliant colour, and a radiant tribute to femininity—always reflecting sophisticated elegance and modernity.
The World Congress also demonstrated Intercoiffure’s strong commitment to nurturing the next generation. Ten juniors from the Fondation Guillaume wowed the audience with a bold and expressive stage show—earning their title as “Superstars of Tomorrow.” Under the theme “Africanacity,” four young hairdressing students from Intercoiffure’s Cape Town-based charity project, Education for Life, presented stylish and modern braided looks.

During the Intercoiffure Gala Night, President Peter F. Pfister unveiled the new Intercoiffure sub-logo, one that will identify every member salon as a place of excellence: The World’s Leading Hairdressers. Then, Roberto Pissimiglia and Sergi Bancells of Estetica Magazine, together with Mikel Luzea, founder of the International Hairdressing Awards, took to the stage to present the official Intercoiffure 100 Years Laudatio. In a powerful tribute, they stated: “Intercoiffure is not just an organization. It is the heartbeat of our industry – and tonight, that heartbeat is stronger than ever.” The three also had the honor of presenting the International Hair Legend of the Year award to Intercoiffure Mondial. For the first time ever, this coveted title was awarded not to an individual, but to the most legendary association in the world of hairdressing—an institution that embodies the collective power of craftsmanship, creativity, and global unity.
The Intercoiffure World Congress Chevalerie Awards recognized outstanding Intercoiffure members and international industry leaders. Among the honorees, Estetica Network received two major distinctions: Roberto Pissimiglia, President and Publisher of EsteticaNetwork, was named Commander of the Ordre de la Chevalerie, while Sergi Bancells, the network’s Global Editorial Ambassador, was appointed Officer of the Ordre de la Chevalerie.
In summary, this centennial celebration was filled with powerful moments, spectacular shows, vibrant music performances, and unforgettable warmth straight from the heart. The final day of the Congress offered a truly memorable experience, as attendees were treated to an exclusive matinée performance by the Camerata orchestra at the iconic Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, one of the world’s most renowned concert halls.
